Botswana | Greater Kalahari Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park

Today our adventure through the Kalahari begins.  Upon arrival at the Twee Rivieren campsite the Bhejane crew is there to meet us and gets us settled in - this will be our first night in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and a sunset game drive is the perfect opportunity to enjoy sundowners in the Great Kalahari.  If your drive has been long and dusty, there is a swimming pool at Twee Rivieren for those who wish to cool off.

Our bush chef will be preparing your first delicious meal and your evening is spent socializing around the fire and getting to know one another.

Today we pack up after breakfast and leave for Nossob Camp where we'll stay for the next three nights.  On our way, we visit the Auchterlonie Museum with displays of the Park's history.  We enjoy a leisurely drive along the sandy tracks stopping en route for lunch 

Once at Nossob, our tents are ready and waiting and tea and coffee are on the campfire.  For those needing to wash off the Kalahari dust, Nossob has a lovely swimming pool, a perfect anecdote for the heat of the African desert. 

After a delicious dinner, there's plenty of time to relax and chat around the fire or perhaps enjoy the water hole and the hide for the night-time game.  Nighttime game drives can also be arranged at the camp reception.  

We have plenty of time to enjoy the South African side of the Park and with Nossob as our base, we can explore some of the pans at Bedinkt, Polentswa, Bitterpan, Rooikop and even Mata Mata.  The waterhole at the campsite also provides some entertaining moments for those who wish to remain around the camp.  

Brunch is enjoyed in camp and during our evening meal, we share our days adventures around the fire.

After breakfast on the 5th day in the park, we pack up leaving Nossob behind us, heading over the border to our camp at Mabuasehube. 

Game viewing in an area known for lion, leopard, cheetah, honey badger and brown hyaena sightings will not disappoint over the 3 nights we are here.  Being in close proximity to the pan, we are well positioned to enjoy the best Mabua has to offer.

After our final Kgalagadi breakfast, we must sadly pack up and head for home.  We will all travel together on sandy cutlines to the little town of Tshabong where we will bid our travelling companions farewell.  From here, it is approximately 20km on a tarred road to the border post and a further 215km to Kuruman.
